Ruby-throated Hummingbirds live in open woodlands, forest edges, meadows, grasslands, and in parks, gardens, and backyards. They fly straight and fast but can stop instantly, hover, and adjust their position up, down, or backward with exquisite control. They often visit hummingbird feeders and tube-shaped flowers and defend these food sources against others.

Beautiful young one, probably female! I love sitting on the patio with my camera and watching them for long periods of time throughout the day but usually early in the morning or in later afternoon. They never seem to be afraid and love the nectar water! This one is so realistic!
